Wow! Well I didn’t expect that response, as we are all aware our entire way of life has changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and one of the challenges facing university lecturers teaching lab-based subjects is how do we provide that experience when we don’t have access to the physical spaces and equipment when university campuses are closed?

When I sent out a handful of emails to colleagues that I knew were involved I lab based teaching I didn’t think I would be organising a webinar for over 100 academics from across the UK to discuss the matter. I’m even more delighted that the Royal Society of Biology has agree to send two representatives to the meeting to provide their views.

The meeting will be help on Wednesday 6th May at 1400, please contact me for the Zoom link. As well as the RSB, other confirmed talks include Professor Ian Turner from the University of Derby and Dr David Smith from Sheffield Hallam University. I’m really looking forward to hearing from them all.
